Redpath Partners are working with a leading global real assets funds management firm. With total assets under management close to $100 billion and investment operations in multiple geographies, our client is one of the largest, publicly listed real estate platforms based in the world. The business transitioned into the U.S. market ten years ago and has grown its assets in the United States to $5 billion across a range of different asset types. The group has three offices in the U.S with headquarters in New York and they have investment appetite across the risk spectrum; from Core/Core Plus to Value-Add and Opportunistic investments, including development projects on a selective basis.

Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Real Estate Asset Manager to take ownership of a portfolio consisting predominantly of student housing assets with a smaller portion dedicated to hotels. With circa 8,000 beds under management across multiple geographies, the successful candidate will be responsible for optimising performance across the portfolio, driving NOI, enhancing asset value, and managing strategic initiatives including refurbishments, disposals, and acquisitions.

Given that the majority of the assets are situated in key, college municipalities there will be travel required with the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute asset-level business plans to maximise income and capital growth.
  • Oversee operational performance of the PBSA portfolio, working closely with property managers and third-party operators.
  • Analyse KPIs including occupancy rates, rental growth, operating costs, and yield metrics to inform strategy.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and capex programs in collaboration with finance and development teams.
  • Implement ESG and sustainability initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure high operational standards and identify value-add opportunities.
  • Support leasing strategies and marketing plans to maintain and enhance occupancy.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management and investors.
  • Assist with asset acquisition and disposal processes, including due diligence and integration.

Candidate

  • At least Five years of asset management experience with some time being spent in student housing
  • Tertiary qualification
  • Must be comfortable with travel
  • Ability to display team leadership qualities
  • Knowledge of Yardi
  • Quality written and verbal communication/strong stakeholder skills
