A Day in the Life

As a Precast CAD Designer, every day brings the excitement of contributing to the design and fabrication of remarkable structures. From blueprint conception to the final product, your role involves crafting shop tickets using advanced drafting software. Collaborate constantly with the dynamic design team and play a pivotal role in sculpting projects. Under the guidance of our Chief Designer or Design Engineer, you'll create precise erection drawings, ensuring every detail aligns with our high standards.

Duties:

• Analyze and interpret erection details and drawings meticulously.
• Work closely with Project Leads, ensuring clear communication on the detailing priorities.
• Develop and refine shop cards with industry-leading CAD and modeling programs like AutoCAD.
• Facilitate seamless operations in carpentry, steel, and plant production by ensuring accurate concrete piece representation.
• Draft comprehensive Bills of Materials.
• Coordinate the checking process of shop cards, ensuring precision.
• Revise based on feedback to maintain unparalleled accuracy.
• Transform detail sketches into detailed steel cards, providing clarity for designers and engineers.
• Engage in additional design-related tasks as they arise.

Qualifications:

A passionate designer with a High School diploma or GED combined with specific training in computer-aided drafting such as AutoCAD. A minimum of three months of hands-on experience positions you well for success in this role.

Skills:

• Proficient in CAD software.
• Adept at reading and translating blueprints into actionable plans.
• Familiar with both 3D modeling technologies and 2D drawings, making use of resources like AutoCAD and Solidworks.
