We're looking for a dedicated and motivated Science Tutor who is excited to support students at the Elementary, Middle, or High School level. This role allows you to make a real impact by tailoring lessons and creating a dynamic, personalized learning experience—whether in-person or virtually.
As a Science Tutor, you will play a crucial role in shaping each student's academic success. You will use your creativity and expertise to make learning enjoyable, boost students' confidence, and guide them through key science concepts in a one-on-one setting. Whether it's helping students with their homework, preparing for tests, or reinforcing classroom lessons, you will help make complex topics easier to understand.
What You'll Do:
Teach Science: Provide tutoring for students in grades 1-12 in a variety of science subjects, including biology, chemistry, and physics.
Create Personalized Learning Plans: Assess each student's academic needs and adapt your approach to best suit their learning style.
Test Preparation: Assist students with test preparation and review for quizzes, exams, and homework.
Motivate and Support: Keep students engaged, focused, and motivated to succeed. Create an encouraging learning environment.
Flexible Learning Environment: Provide both in-person and virtual tutoring sessions, meeting students where they are most comfortable.
Collaborate: Work with families to keep them updated on their child's progress and collaborate with fellow tutors to provide the best learning experience.
What You'll Need:
Certification: A valid NJ Standard Teaching Certification or NJ Special Education Certification (active or retired) is required for this position.
Science Expertise: Ability to teach science concepts for grades 1-8 or 9-12.
Teaching Experience: Prior tutoring or teaching experience is a plus, but not required.
Flexibility: Ability to travel to in-person sessions within a reasonable distance from your location.
Professionalism: A high level of professionalism and the ability to collaborate effectively with families and colleagues.
Virtual Teaching Tools: Comfort with using online tools for virtual instruction when needed.
