Job Description

Talon Hiring Solutions has a client that is looking for a Track and Trace Specialist to join their team in Hoover, AL . This key role is responsible for providing exceptional customer support by tracking shipments, communicating with carriers and customers, and resolving issues as they arise. This role follows the leadership of the team lead to effectively succeed in moving freight. The ideal candidate should enjoy being proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.

What you will do

• Conduct outbound calls to obtain shipment and truck location updates
• Handle inbound carrier calls and maintain accurate records
• Contact and correspond with carriers to develop ongoing relationships
• Build and maintain relationships with core carriers; assist in resolving issues
• Track shipments using outbound calls and carrier websites
• Trains, explain processes, and support problem-solving as needed
• Use TMS software to search records and provide data reports to team members and customers
• Resolve customer inquiries related to shipments in transit
• Coordinate with internal teams for order fulfillment
• Respond to phone and email inquiries
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of TMS software, delivery schedules, and transit timelines
• Ensure all orders are actively tracked and updated with current status
• Keep customer web portals accurate and up to date

What you will bring:

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (logistics)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to independently draft professional correspondence
• Quick-thinking and strong problem-solving abilities
• Committed to providing outstanding customer service
• Familiarity with TMS software and logistics systems is a plus
